Here’s what I love!
When you have a child who is comfortable and playing to the camera.
You must guide the child into letting his or herself out. If you can bring that to the surface you’ll have a great shoot.
The spontaneous humour you get from a child who is totally comfortable with you is an amazing thing to see and be a part of and the pictures you get are priceless.
As a child/baby photographer, I have a good time with my little clients and they have a good time too. “Sit still, watch the birdy, say cheese, sit up straight, don’t move………” These are things NEVER said in my studio.
The key is to guide and encourage, not to control. If you want to connect with a child…..you better contact YOUR inner child.
Until next time…..Happy Shooting.
